Number 30: Arriving in Edimburgh and ferry boat to Belgium
|
|
May 2007
Hello!
I cycled all the way down the Scotish east coast, until Edinburgh, the capital. Is a beautiful and vibrant city, with a
strong cultural feeling. From here I toke a ferry to Belgium, because other travellers had tell me that the east coast
of England is too industrialized, not so interesting to cycle.
I was very welcomed in Belgium, on the very first night a family invited me to spent the night in their home. The husband Dirk is from
Belgium, and the wife Elida from Brazil, and they have two nice sons that speaks flemish and portuguese. They saw my brazilian
flag and stopped the car to talk with me. My brazilian flag, as well as my guitar, are my 2 "passaports", that open doors,
turns people friendly... they ask me to stop to a chat or to play some brazilian song, and in some minutes I have good
new friends!
From there I arrived in Antuerp, whre I spend some wonderful days couchsurfing in Anna's house. And then I finnaly arrived in the Netherlands...
Cheers!
Edgard Gaio
